My child is not yet 18, can I still provide services to him/her?

As of April 10, 2020 state policy provisions have been put in place allowing parents to provide services to their minor children. Parents who would like to provide services to their minor children need to reach out to their support coordinator to assess whether this is appropriate. State guidelines exclude the following from being able to provide services to their minor children:
    • Parent is working from home
    • Absolute has available staff who was already working in the home (not furloughed due to COVID-19 concerns)
Once Absolute receives written confirmation that it is appropriate for the parent of the minor to provide services, we will proceed with the virtual hiring process. Please be aware, however, that parent providers are required to complete all required training, turn in all required documentation (including a Fingerprint Clearance Card), and follow all agency policies as an employee of Absolute HCBS.
