Can Absolute HCBS supply providers face masks and gloves?

We have had several requests for additional personal protective equipment, especially gloves and masks. Unfortunately, as you are probably aware, there is a nationwide shortage of PPE’s and we are unable to order at this time. We’ve had some success with donations from providers and families who do not need theirs and are distributing these based on highest need. Requests can be made to Area Supervisors with the name of the consumer, service you are providing, and the reason for the request, i.e. incontinence, feeding, bathing, etc.
While services to members of the Division of Developmental Disabilities are on the governor’s list of essential positions and not currently limited to social distancing guidelines or mandates, families and providers should continue to use discretion in making decisions about providing and receiving services, but Absolute HCBS is not asking providers to go to work sick or continue working with a consumer who is sick or has family-in-home who are sick.
